The area along Honeycutt and Cass Holt Roads seems be the next big area for development. Along Honeycutt Roads is the neighborhood Honeycutt Farms and Buckhorn Elementary School. Valencia is being built along Cass Holt just over a block away of Honeycutt Road, the future Holly Springs town park is slated to built along Cass Holt just across from Holly Springs High School. An area where tobacco is growing right now, could add another neighborhood called Cass Holt Crossing.
Cass Holt Crossing will be a mix of townhomes and detached homes and be situated on both sides of Cass Holt Road. During the town council meeting on August 15th, development spokesperson Bill Daniel explained how the project will maintain a lot of its greenspace at the request of the current neighbors to the land. The property is planned to have walking trails and ponds. It will also include a sidewalk that will connect to the future park.
While the neighborhood was praised by the council for its design, it is a gap that gave them pause. The gap is two pieces of property or 500 feet.
The two pieces of property are along Honeycutt Road and privately owned. This prevents the the road from being widened fully and keeps the sidewalk from connecting to Honeycutt Farm. The project was tabled until this gap can be resolved.
