A Vision Takes Shape: The Journey to Eagles Landing Park
Kicking Off Construction with the Initial $20 Million for Eagles Landing Park
The plans are in the works and now it is time to fund the construction for the Eagles Landing Park in Holly Springs. An engineer laid out the first plan to spend just over $20 million for the infrastructure during the January 21 town council meeting. The funding comes from the 2023 Parks and Recreation Bond passed by voters.
The 56-acre park will be located on Cass Holt Road across from Holly Springs High School. Not only will the park need to be built, but the roads around the park will need to be improved to manage traffic.
The council listened as the GMP Process was explained. GMP stands for Guaranteed Maximum Price and it is determined by the contractors to help the town stay on budget for each phase of the construction project. The GMP Process is expected to be done in two phases.
Back in October, the council reviewed drawings of the outside of the park’s main facility.
Each council member shared feedback and from that feedback, this is the new look:
During the council meeting, there were questions about the budget and the use of fiber versus cable.
The GMP-01 Process passed.
The town hopes to hold a groundbreaking for the construction in the spring. The park is expected to open in late 2027. The project is estimated to cost around $100 million.
